- Powder Puff practice tonight and tomorrow from 6-8 pm for all players and cheerleaders. Jerseys will be handed out after Tuesday’s practice so make sure you have your $10 deposit. (Ray)

- Do you have a great idea for starting your own business? On November 4th you can find out how to make your dream a reality. Attend the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour sponsored by the Small Business Development Center of Shasta and Siskiyou Counties. If you want to join us on this fun and informational event, please see Mrs. Alexander in Room 50 to pick up your field trip permission form. This event is open to 9-12th graders. However, before you can attend, you must have your signed permission form to Mrs. Alexander by Friday, October 30. Did I mention you receive free lunch at this November 4 event and that there are prizes? Don’t wait! We have a limited number of seats left on the bus.

- Top students need to apply for the Coca-Cola Scholars scholarship by October 31st and the Elk’s Most Valuable Student scholarship by November 2nd. Information to apply is in the scholarship bulletin you received in your English class. If you need another copy, see Kris in the Counseling Center. (Harris)

- Shasta Co. Youth/Peer Court is recruiting students (ages 12-18) to be volunteer jurors and attorneys in real juvenile court proceedings. Training will be Nov. 5, 2009 from 5:30-8pm. on the 2nd floor of the U.S. Bank building. Call 244-7194 to sign up and get details about the training. This is a great volunteer opportunity to build skills while helping other youth.

- Have your ever heard of Ultimate Frisbee? Now is your chance to check out this wonderful sport of skill, agility, and spirit of the game. Similar to football and soccer and played with a frisbie, it’s a game for everyone. If interested, come to the Hornets Ultimate Club’s first meeting on Monday during lunch in Mr. McGee’s, Room 76, and learn what it means to layout!
