Student Recognition
This year we have made significant changes to our student recognition
program here at Enterprise High School. Student recognition adds an important
component to our school culture. A school culture that values hard work
and effort is a school that is successful.
We now recognize a student of the month from ten separate departments,
from performing arts to physical education. Each student has their picture
placed in our new student of the month display case located in the main
hall across from the main office. These ten students are then invited
to a catered lunch and interviewed by a panel of teachers, administrators,
and peers. The student that receives the highest scor
e on the scoring rubric is our Rotary Club student of the month. This
honor allots the student the opportunity to have lunch with the Rotary
Club, their parent(s)/guardians, and Principal Mr. Peterson. During lunch
they are introduced to address the Rotary Club, receive a plaque, and
given fifty dollars.
In addition to the changes to the Rotary Student of the month, we have
added the “Hustling Hornet”. The “Hustling Hornet”
is a laminated business card(s) that all staff members have in their possession
and use to recognize students that go above and beyond expectations in
action and words. When a staff member witnesses a hustling hornet they
award the student with the Hornet card, the student then comes into the
office on Mondays or Fridays to redeem the card for an assortment of gifts.
So far this quarter fifty cards have been awarded by staff to our students.
The changes are well worth it for the student body and the staff continues
to look for opportunities to reward students who do their best on our
campus.
